Direct response for results

Marketing was scary for me at first. I didn’t know what I was doing so I did a bunch of things and failed at most of them. Once I found out about direct response marketing and started using tactics from it, things started working. Corey Pemberton gives a great introduction on how to use direct response tactics but for freelancers who work online.

Write your way to clients

Writing. It’s the top strategy I’ve used to win clients and mixes well direct response tactics. I can trace many of my top, long-term clients back to something I wrote. Maybe a blog post, a thread on a forum, or one of my books. Writing and creating value through writing has made my business. I 100% agree with Blair Enns’s article on Four Reasons to Write.
